At TEIDE REFRACTORY SOLUTIONS, together with one of the leading companies in cremation solutions, we have carried out a turnkey project that involved the design, supply, and installation of two cremation units. This project focused on optimizing the refractory service life and reducing preventive maintenance due to premature wear in previous furnace models.
The main objective was to improve the replacement of individual refractory parts in the cremation furnace by adopting a design based on prefabricated cast, dried, and fired pieces, allowing for easy replacement when necessary. Additionally, durability was enhanced by upgrading the material quality, using an andalusite-based composition with our TIX-60 A castable, ideal for chemically aggressive environments. In areas with complex geometry, where prefabricated pieces could not be used, our PYROFORM SC-50 castable was applied, ensuring easy installation and optimal performance. To further improve insulation, a second layer of ISOFORM 1-0-6 VG insulating castable was incorporated, achieving superior thermal resistance and significantly extending service life.
The furnace was commissioned at the beginning of 2024 and, after a year of operation, remains in perfect condition. We are pleased to know that both our client and the end user are fully satisfied with the results.
