At Teide Refractory Solutions we have received excellent reviews on the ongoing performance of two innovative solutions we supplied in recent years to Ibstock, the UK’s leading brick manufacturer and supplier of brick products.
The latest project, completed in 2020, involved the design, manufacture and installation of 42 kiln cars (1,200 tons of material) for the Laybrook plant. The kiln cars required a robust design to withstand the plant’s working conditions. Ibstock Laybrook Technical Director Tom Fairweather says, “The kiln car refractories on this project are fantastic. They have been used in full production for two years with no issues. Teide offers great quality and reliability.”
The previous project, completed in 2015, involved the design, manufacture and supply of 8,000 Draught Hole Blocks to the Aldridge plant near Birmingham. Ibstock Aldridge Technical Director Chris Mason said, “We have been using Teide draught hole blocks for seven years. The quality is exceptional and there has never been any need to order any replacement pieces. Since the initial order, we have had minimum breakages – an excellent product.”
Carlos Mazorra, CEO of Teide, said, "We are delighted to know that our two solutions are working so well for Ibstock. It is especially important that our products are robust and can withstand the harsh working conditions and also that they offer energy saving solutions. It is great to see that we have achieved this in these two projects, as our aim is to continually help customers meet their challenges."
