DESIGN OF REFRACTORY MATERIALS WITH A HIGH CHROMIUM OXIDE (CR203) CONTENT . PART 1

  • There are many sectors (rotary heart furnaces, cupola furnaces, non-ferrous foundries, etc) that requiere highly specialised products with a high chromium oxide (Cr2O3) content to protect refrqactory materials from the acid environments involved in the process.

  • Below is a photo of the use od wedges with a high chromium content in a rotary hearth used to burn hazardous materials.

  • This type of materials is used to increase the chemical resistance in this zone, thus extending the useful life of the refractory lining.

  • These materials are also used in non-ferrous or cupola furnaces, where tey are observerd to have considerable durability.

  • If you have a process in which you need to increase the durability of your refractory material, contact TEIDE REFRACTORY SOLUTIONS teide@teide.es and we will advise you and prpose the best type of refractarory material for your needs.
