TEIDE CONFIRMS THE ENERGY SAVING FOLLOWING THE KILN CAR RECONVERSION

  • Last June, we reported a new successful kiln car reconversion based on refractory concrete to produce kiln cars with a low thermal mass.

  • 5 months later, we were able to corroborate that reality has surpassed our expectations. Thanks to the improvement in the refractory coating, our customer now consumes 50 m3/tons of gas compared to the 67 m3/tons they consumed before the reconversion, representing energy savings of 25%.

  • Similarly, the temperature below the kiln car is lower than expected, falling from the 160º C prior to the reconversion to the current 50-60º C, with the ensuing improvement in the kiln car bearings.
